John speaks with national security and technology expert Klon Kitchen, exploring the impact of technology on the American social contract, and its role in contemporary warfare, including the role American 'Big Tech' companies have played in supporting Ukraine in their war with Putin's Russia. They also discuss the significant challenges presented by China’s cyberwarfare capabilities, infrastructure-based espionage, and social credit system. Klon Kitchen is a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he focuses on the intersection of national security and defence technologies and innovation. Through his research, he works to understand and explain how emerging technologies are shaping modern statecraft, intelligence, and warfighting, while focusing on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, robotics, and quantum sciences. Before joining AEI, Klon was director of the Heritage Foundation’s Center for Technology Policy, and was former national security advisor to Senator Ben Sasse (R-NE). #bigtech #cyberwarfare #china #ukrainewar -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conversations feature John Anderson, former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, interviewing the world's foremost thought leaders about today's pressing social, cultural and political issues.
