Check out my FREE 4-Part Confidence Workshop! https://bit.ly/3QnKYVp Committing to the wrong guy can come at a high price. It's crucial to choose a partner who aligns with your values, goals, and aspirations. But how do you find that out before it’s too late and you’ve paid the price? My homie Spirit is with us today. We explore the crippling high cost of committing to the wrong partner and the importance of emotional and spiritual compatibility in a relationship and how dealing with personal insecurities, understanding our own desires, and navigating unfulfilled needs can shape relationships. Spirit is a board certified National Certified Counselor (NCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Child Custody Evaluator (CCE) & Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator (CFMHE) who specializes in relationships and trauma. We dig into the difference between the fantasy and reality of being in a relationship, how ignoring the practical aspect can lead you down a path of regret, the dangers of falling for potential over consistent behavior, how stories we tell ourselves affect our current relationships, and understanding the importance of trust and openness in healing old wounds. If you've ever questioned the foundation of your relationship or wondered if you're truly compatible with your partner, this is a must-watch! BONUS: Keep watching to learn the warning signs that your relationship won’t actually last. I dig into some questions you MUST ask your partner and what their responses tell you about the future of your relationship. FIRE QUOTES FROM SPIRIT: "It's not just what they're telling you, but it's that are their actions consistently, not just initially?" (02:51) "Do you want someone who has the potential or do you want someone who's already in progress? It is two very different things.” (05:51) "Your forever partner should feel like you get to have a sleepover with your best friend every night." (23:20) "Because really the cheating is a coping strategy. The cheating is what they do as a result of having the need. What do we do about the need?" (01:27:43) "We get so caught up in the things and the transgressions and the offenses that we never get to the things that will make our relationships better. We never get to the things that will heal us."
