Daniel Davis Deep Dive Merch: Etsy store https://www.etsy.com/shop/DanielDavisDeepDive?ref=seller-platform-mcnav Larry Johnson argues that recent Ukrainian attacks—portrayed in the West as effective pressure on Russia—will not force Moscow toward compromise and instead risk escalation. Western claims that strikes on Russian energy infrastructure meaningfully damage Russia are said to be exaggerated: oil now makes up a much smaller share of Russia’s GDP, Russia exports mostly raw crude (processed abroad), and power outages in Moscow have been minimal and temporary. The attack is framed as proof of Western—especially British—intelligence involvement, with MI6 identified as a key instigator and suggestions that some CIA elements continue supporting Ukraine despite U.S. political leadership. The speaker claims U.S. intelligence assessments rely heavily on foreign “liaison reporting,” producing overly optimistic narratives that Ukraine is winning and Russia is near collapse, which misleads U.S. leaders. According to the speaker, this disconnect risks serious escalation, potentially including Russian retaliation beyond Ukraine, while Russia for now focuses on Kyiv and disrupting Western resupply routes from Romania and Poland. On the battlefield, the speaker rejects Western and Ukrainian claims of massive Russian losses, arguing instead that Russia is steadily advancing, expanding control in eastern and northern Ukraine, and creating security zones near the border. He asserts Ukraine lacks the manpower to respond, citing population disparities and higher Ukrainian casualty rates. Russia, he says, has not fully mobilized yet still maintains 700,000–750,000 troops in Ukraine, giving it decisive endurance. Overall, the argument is that Western narratives about Russian weakness are detached from realities on the ground, Ukraine is losing territory and manpower, and continued Western escalation—based on flawed intelligence—raises the risk of a much wider conflict.
