The accents, the trees, THE FREAKING GOTHIC VIBES. But what we don't love is the murder. Especially this one. On August 23, 1987, a young mother named Selonia Reed was found murdered in her car about a mile from her home. The clues were few, but there was one that was significant. A cigarette butt. In the pre-DNA 1980s, there wasn't much they could do with it. But, shockingly, it was well preserved. And though it would take THIRTY FIVE YEARS to get it done, that cigarette butt would eventually lead investigators to Selonia's killer. That's...too long. But here we are. And now let's spend some time with Selonia's friends and family--including her impeccably dressed sister--to hear about how amazing she was. _Find and watch "Murder in the Bayou" on Hulu_ *FIND ALL OUR YOUTUBE VIDEOS HERE:* https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLdCEZ4WwVyTZrP62qQzfywgBKXcYM577E *LOOKING FOR MORE TCO?* On our Patreon feed https://www.patreon.com/TrueCrimeObsessed, you'll find over 400 FULL AD-FREE BONUS episodes to BINGE RIGHT NOW, including our episode-by-episode coverage of popular documentary series like Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God, LulaRich, and The Curious Case of Natalia Grace; classics like The Jinx, Making A Murderer, and The Staircase; and well-known cases like The Menendez Murders, Casey Anthony: American Murder Mystery, and The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, and so many more! *EPISODE SPONSORS* - *Ladder* - Go to https://ladder.fit/TCO to find your perfect workout plan and get a free 7-day trial and $10 off your first month! - *Chime* - Make progress towards a better financial future with Chime.
