Beverly Hills isn’t the type of place where you expect someone to disappear without a trace. In fact, there are only two people on the city’s missing persons list. One of those people is Adam Hecht, the 23-year-old son of a successful Hollywood producer who grew up surrounded by movie stars, mansions, and privilege. But by 1989, Adam had become disillusioned with that lifestyle. He was spending time with Los Angeles’ homeless population, exploring mysticism, and had invited a homeless man to live in his apartment. Then, on June 7, Adam disappeared without a trace. 37 years later, investigators still don’t know what happened to him, and his disappearance remains one of Beverly Hills’ biggest mysteries. If you have information in this case, contact the Beverly Hills Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (310) 285-2158.
