Both were sent to a detention camp in Texas despite the family entering the U.S. legally and having an active asylum case. ICE detained a 2-year-old girl, ignored a judge’s order for her immediate release, and still transported her to Texas. ICE agents killed U.S. citizen Alex Jeffrey Pretti, an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA, after he tried to protect a woman they had shoved to the ground. Pretti was unarmed when shot Had no criminal record Was legally carrying a firearm before being disarmed Was shot 10–12 times despite posing no threat Kristi Noem publicly lied about the incident.
