Did an Egyptian princess really travel across the ancient world and give Scotland its name? In Episode 207 of Ninjas Are Butterflies, we dive into the bizarre legend of Scota, the mysterious figure some ancient traditions connect to Egypt, Ireland, and the origins of Scotland. But that’s only the beginning. We investigate the horrifying story of the Black Hole of Calcutta and ask how much of the version passed down through history actually happened, before uncovering the unbelievable story of Captain Henry Every — the pirate who pulled off one of the greatest scores in history, became one of the most wanted men on Earth, and then seemingly vanished without a trace. Ancient bloodlines, disputed history, buried treasure, missing pirates, and mysteries that somehow get stranger the deeper you go. This is Ninjas Are Butterflies.
