On today's podcast: (4:21) "Lee Nailing's Orphan Train Story" by Pippa White: Pippa White shares a story about Lee Nailing, who was an orphan on one of the many orphan trains that existed in history. This historical tale teaches us of the hard times people can go through. But, in the end, there can be a happy ending if we all would give a helping hand. (26:50) Radio Family Journal by Sam Payne: Sam shares a memory about a trip to Bulgaria. He talks about the chance to work on humanitarian projects for orphans and how that story impacted him. Of the many memorable things from that trip, a photo is the most powerful reminder of what he had learned from that experience. (34:04) Ben Schilaty joins us on The Apple Seed to talk about his experience with his friend Georgina. What seemed like a small act of service for someone in his community, turned into a bigger project than he was expecting. In the end, Ben was able to connect with Georgina in a way he never thought he would as he helped her to write her life story. Unfortunately, it never was finished. Yet, Ben learned that he still got to be part of Georgina's life story. In turn, his experience with Georgina helped to shape his own life as the years passed. (43:55) "Olaf's Story" by Pippa White: Pippa White shares another story of a kid named Olaf from Norway. Olaf learns a valuable lesson about trusting his intuition when he is caught in a situation that could have ended badly. Sometimes it is best to trust your inner voice when making decisions.
