15 years ago, Butch wrote to Dr. Phil asking for help to confront the man who shot and killed his mother. Butch was only 12 years old when he witnessed his loving mother’s tragic death. The man responsible, was his own father, and although Butch had every reason to cut his mother’s killer out of his life, Butch refused to give up on the possibility of forgiveness and reconciliation with his father, which he ultimately did. Butch credits his conversation with Dr. Phil for repairing his relationship with his father before he sadly passed away. Butch returns to introduce Dr. Phil to Malachi, who says he is tormented by the shame and guilt regarding a tragic car accident that he caused, and resulted in the death of a mother to three boys.
