From building one of India’s biggest private universities to stepping into politics, he shares how business and governance connect, what power really means, and the realities of navigating both worlds. We discuss whether politicians are more powerful than businessmen, and how decisions are made in parliament, and why he chose politics as a way to drive change in education. Dr. Mittal also opens up about the business of education, the investments, challenges, and the criticism around universities focusing more on facilities than academics. He reflects on curriculum building, outdated policies, and the real reasons behind rising unemployment among graduates. In the last segment, the conversation explores topics like the drug problem in Punjab, Bollywood’s influence, and whether even the most honest businessmen can be targeted by power. Dr. Mittal also shares personal stories about his family’s sweet shop, how he entered the automobile business, and the journey of starting LPU. Subscribe for more such conversations!
