The rotation had been largely uneventful, and on July 19th, Denisha went to a waterpark/theme park with five of her colleagues, including her bunkmate in the barracks. That evening, after returning from the water park, Denisha frantically facetimed her family, telling them that her group had assaulted her on the drive home. Her body was covered in bruises, scratches, puncture wounds, and even burn marks.
