Dr. Andrew Stone speaks with John about the concerning economic trends following government responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. He and John discuss the rise of Modern Monetary Theory, The Great Reset, climate politics, and Australia’s trade war with China. They explore the relationship between rising interest and inflation rates, house prices, and the large-scale consequences for our economic future. Dr. Andrew Stone has been a public policy economist for 25 years. He spent five years at the Commonwealth Treasury and over a decade at the Reserve Bank of Australia, before spending five years as Chief Economist and senior policy advisor to the Hon. Prior to switching to economics, Dr. Stone earned a PhD in pure mathematics from Stanford University. He has published articles in leading academic journals, as well as the Reserve Bank’s Research Discussion Paper series.
