The current escalation and prolongation of the war in Iran is making American troops and the country as a whole less safe.

“What Donald Trump is doing, he's making Americans less safe. He's making our troops less safe. And he's continuing to escalate and prolong this war, his war of choice.”

The Trump administration lacks a strategic plan for the war in Iran, with actions often appearing to be reactive and poorly coordinated.

“It's all strategy after the fact. And you I think about the comparison to uh the Bush presidency where they had at least initially success in Afghanistan and and got very excited about that and launched a war in Iraq. And I didn't think that you could launch a war in the Middle East with less foresi”

The Trump administration's current military strategy of destruction will not achieve change because Iran holds an asymmetric advantage through its control of the Strait of Hormuz.

“No matter how many ships and planes they blow up, as long as Iran can make ship captains not want to go through the straight of Hormuz, then Iran has an asymmetric advantage here.”

The idea that Iran could be quickly defeated through aerial bombardment is a foolish fantasy.

“This whole idea that you can just bomb them from the sky and they will somehow crumble is really like a like a it it it's like a version of reality that seems to draw from Hollywood films.”

Initiating the war in Iran was a major strategic miscalculation.

“And I think this was a major miscalculation to go to this war at this time.”

Tactical military successes, such as bombing or blockades, do not equate to strategic success and often fail to achieve political goals.

“Tactically, as with the bombing, when the bombs were launched against um Iran on February 28th, bombs hit target, bombs killed leader. With the blockade, tactically, you have the same thing. In fact, we've turned around something like 40 ships, 38 ships here that was carrying Iran's oil. So, tactica”

General McChrystal asserts that the US government tends to erroneously overestimate the effectiveness of aerial bombing while failing to grasp the deep-seated motivations of its adversaries.

“I think that we fell for the seduction that if we bomb key targets that we will produce the outcome we want, but the outcome's in the minds of the people. And unless you're going to kill all the people, you may not affect that outcome.”

He believes the United States will inevitably struggle with occupying Iran because the local population will eventually view them as occupiers regardless of original intentions.

“But eventually, regardless of uh your intentions, if you spend time there, you're an occupier. And people, even if they're on their side, the longer you bomb them, the less they're going to like you.”

Consolidating military gains to reach sustainable political outcomes is a necessary phase in war that cannot be bypassed by short-term approaches.

“the consolidation of military gains to get to those political outcomes it's not like an optional phase in war it's something we've always had to do”

A clear strategic endstate is currently missing from the US operations in Iran.

“This is the problem when there's not a clearly defined instate. This is how you get mission creep. And and that's what really worries me the most.”

The military operation against Iran is laser-focused and decisive, with clear and unchanged objectives.

“Epic fury is different. It's laser focused. It's decisive. Our objectives given directly from our America First president remain exactly what they were. On day one.”

Israel has a moral duty to continue its military operations until Hamas is destroyed and hostages are recovered.

“We have one goal, Dave. One simple goal to destroy Hamas and bring home our hostages. And all of a sudden, it's not the fog of war, Dave. It is your fog. You're unwilling to understand the most basic principle here that there's probably never been a more moral war fought by an army that does not wan”

The United States should use its dominant military capability to respond to Iranian threats and provocations.

“This is the Trumpian foreign policy. If you screw with us, if you screw with our allies, you get hit. If you interfere with American interests in the Strait of Hormuz, you get hit.”

The current Israeli and US air campaign in Iran is one of the largest in history and designed to degrade Iranian capabilities.

“Uh so we're looking at in the last 48 hours something approaching 2,000 separate sorties looking at Israel and the United States combined. Uh the this air operation is one of the largest in human history. Uh the number of targets on the ground destroyed. Uh they're still doing battle damage assessme”

Steven Crowder argues that the destruction of Iran's navy was a significant, successful tactical move that provides the United States with leverage in negotiations.
