“It wasn't until I thought for myself at 15, I was like, maybe they got something that they haven't dealt with. Maybe it's not every beating you get. Maybe it's not because of something you did. Maybe it's something they haven't dealt with. And then once I made that realization, that really ticked me”

Being raised in a strictly religious environment provided a structured life filled with a sense of enchantment where it was believed that good always prevails over evil.
