“You got to know the champion. Who's the decision maker? That's what I always thought that who is the decision maker in the process. I recruited the champion harder than I recruited the recruit.”

Successful college football coaches must be strong personalities who can manage players and command respect.

“This coaching thing, the people that thrive at coaching in college right now have to be a very strong personality and honestly a smart individual.”

University athletic departments should consider hiring coaches who have strong ties to the program to ensure commitment and relatability.

“I think earlier I mentioned, you know, having ties to the program. Just to toss it back, you're right really quick. As far as LSU is concerned, I think they should look at Cortez and Cord, you know, just just in in in terms of the process, right?”

He believes that top high school prospects should avoid HBCUs if they want to maximize their chances of being a top NBA draft pick.

“Not a curse. Not a curse. But it you you basically eliminating your your chances of being a top five pick.”
