Linus believes that for gaming, there is little practical benefit to using a Gen 4 NVMe SSD over a high-performance Gen 3 drive, and users should prioritize reliability and warranty.

“there's not really a clear performance benefit to going with one a gen 4 ssd versus a high performance gen 3 ssd and even as we showed in a recent video if all you're doing is gaming there's actually just not much benefit to even going nvme in terms of things you would notice like game load times”
