Mark Laita believes that engaging in sex work at a young age negatively affects a person's mental state and makes them jaded to the point where recovery becomes difficult.

“I just think your view on life and love is going to be so jaded by the time you're done that I don't know if there's hope.”

Prostitution is a lifestyle choice she has breathed since age 12, and she views it as a way to maintain her independence and financial security.

“I don't give a damn what nobody says if you live that life from a young girl that is something spoon fed inside of you it's just like that it's hard to reverse that”

She notes that prostitution is a domestic problem for many nations, not just an issue driven by international tourism.

“but as I was saying it's also important to know that it is a lot of time men as well who are actually visiting these brothels and it's the same you see the same in India it's not only tourists it's really a lot of Indian men as well going to brothels so really yeah so it's it's it's a domestic probl”

She feels she is unable to change or stop working as an escort due to a sense of worthlessness and self-sabotage stemming from her past.

“I'm still an escort to this day and I don't know if that's the reason why if I feel like I don't deserve anything else I'm always self-sabotaging”
