The United States is currently exerting control over Venezuela through its installed leadership to prevent a chaotic power vacuum.

“So, it's quite apparent that America is is in charge and they're saying to the Venezuelan government, this is enough. You are going to we're going to now operate and instruct Venezuela how to exist, how to live, how to be a country.”

The intervention in Venezuela was not motivated by human rights abuses but by the necessity of addressing a hostile force encroaching upon America's sphere of influence.

“The reason this happened was that Venezuela was becoming a hostile force within America's hemisphere, within America's sphere of influence, within America's sphere of dominance, you might say.”

Nicolas Maduro is a communist dictator whose nationalization of the Venezuelan oil industry significantly damaged the country's economy.

“Today, 27 years later, $3,000 GDP per capita. Why? Venezuela nationalized its oil industry and made it totally ineffectual. They they literally sliced their oil output by three quarters. They took one of the most oil-rich places on planet Earth and turned it into a hole.”

The removal of Maduro by US forces and the subsequent shift in power is a major setback for Chinese foreign policy and its economic interests in Latin America.
