Designing robots to look like humans or other animals is often an unimaginative approach compared to designing robots specifically for their tasks.

“I've been deeply curious why anyone would build a robot that resembles any life form at all just build a robot that is exact shaped for your task and that should not have to be something that looks like another life form”

Designing robots to resemble life forms is a valid engineering trade-off depending on the specific tasks and environmental constraints.

“it comes down to almost more of a philosophical question doesn't it have to be true that a specially designed robot will do its task better than a generally designed robot would”
