She contends that claiming the U.S. is a republic rather than a democracy is historically rooted in 1950s white supremacy to justify voter suppression.

“The reason they started talking about that in the modern era was in the 1950s. It was an excuse from the John Birch Society, which is a far-right society, for why they didn't want black Americans to vote.”

The US Constitution is fundamentally broken and provides no protection against presidential corruption.

“My conclusion, the US Constitution is broken. It's not fit for purpose. What we've discovered is that if you get a president like Trump and if you enter a world of private sector, crypto, globalized growth, the US Constitution is no protection.”

He views Trump's actions as a dangerous disregard for established American institutional norms and legal processes in favor of power and violence.

“We're creating a culture which I think is fundamentally about Steven Miller, particularly Trump's deputy chief of staff, but actually pretty much Vance and Trump too, believing in the end that what matters is power, force and violence, not laws and process.”

The Department of Justice should remain independent from the White House and not be politicized to serve a president's interests.

“And certainly it's not the Department of Justice's job historically to do a president's bidding. Pam Bondi changed that paradigm, which is why her firing was perhaps so shocking to people because she was truly politicizing a department which is not to be politicized.”

The president lacks the constitutional authority to unilaterally change federal election procedures.

“Put simply, our Constitution does not allow the president to impose unilateral changes to federal election procedures.”

Destiny argues that the Constitution is no longer a functional safeguard against Donald Trump's potential actions because it lacks inherent enforcement power.
