He believes blocking the merger between JetBlue and Spirit Airlines was a mistake that negatively impacted competition and consumer choices.

“What happened was they said, "Oh, it'll lead to higher fares and fewer flights." They believed that JetBlue was merely going to shut down Spirit. Well, they apparently don't understand the the economics of airlines. That's not what's going to happen.”
