Brian Tyler Cohen contends that Democrats should prioritize an affordability agenda to successfully reach voters and counter Republican failures.

“this is not necessarily a question of progressive versus moderate, liberal versus centrist. Like it's not about that. It's about meeting people where they are and recognizing the issues that impact them. Uh and I think that we have seen from candidates who are more moderate like Cheryl and Spanberge”

She argues that the electoral success of Democrats in off-year elections suggests an energized coalition that is motivated to vote against the Trump administration.

“The story of the night is going to be all about kind of democratic resistance and then kind of understanding different margins.”

He claims that the anger and partisanship of the Democratic base is overcoming voters' discontent with their own party.

“I think like the rage and partisanship is overcoming some of people's like uh discontent around particular issues that they may have with their own party.”
