Realizing that you do not have all the answers is a necessary condition for becoming wise.

“The second you think you have it, uh you find that there is more left for you to learn. So there's something elusive about it in the sense that the horizon is elusive, right? Like you approach it and you feel like you're not making progress.”

Intellectual humility is difficult to achieve because people naturally prefer the comfort of certainty over not knowing.

“I just bump on one aspect of human nature which is that we many of us hate not knowing. We like certainty. It's a bull work against um a um a world that often seems out of control.”

The foundation of blind spotting is the practice of being honest, curious, and flexible, which requires admitting to and accepting one's intellectual limits.
