The two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran is fragile and unlikely to lead to a long-lasting peace given the significant gap between the parties.

The Trump-Iran ceasefire is not a genuine agreement because the Trump administration and Iran have fundamentally different interpretations of the terms.

“There was no deal. There was just Trump making a proposal, Iran making a proposal. Neither They agree maybe on some points, uh but they don't agree on some very important points and so there is no deal.”

Trump's strategy is to make extreme, unreasonable threats and then back down when they fail to achieve the desired outcome.

“This is just Trump once again setting an arbitrary deadline, making huge threats, getting tremendous backlash domestically and internationally for those threats and backing down. And here we are again.”

President Trump's ceasefire should be given the benefit of the doubt as a negotiating tactic rather than being viewed as a failure or a caving to Iranian demands.

“To call it taco goinging out and Trump doesn't know what he's doing, I think history proves we should give Trump a little bit of the benefit of the doubt on this because things do tend to be a lot better than what they seem uh at first glance.”
