“Robot taxis have been involved in a significant number of accidents and the idea that they're going to get a million of those on the street and not face massive lawsuits seems quite frankly farcical.”

“I think just people are giving them absolutely no credit and don't believe that Uber will be able to navigate the autonomous future and that's evidenced by the valuation.”

“you know, if you've read my stuff, you know that I actually think AVs are going to be a big tailwind for Uber.”

“a network that's aggregating all autonomous vehicles still wins in I think it's the right strategy.”

Autonomous vehicles are not currently a threat to Copart's business model because adoption will take decades and sensor-heavy vehicles are more expensive to repair, leading to higher total loss rates.

“But when I put all the pieces together, more total losses whenever an accident does happen, the fact that adoption would likely take 30 plus years to work through the fleet, and the reality that past safety features barely dented accident numbers, I don't see AVs yet as thesis breaking for Copart.”
