She states that someone with Munchausen Syndrome knows they are not ill and uses the condition as a manipulation tactic to gain attention.

The host believes that Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a real psychological disorder that is important for people to understand.

“I think the most well-known example of munch Housen by proxy is DD Blanchard and Gypsy Blanchard many of you have probably heard of that case I know a show came out on it recently it's called Mommy dead and dearest”

Dr. Phil considers Munchausen syndrome by proxy to be a serious, harmful disorder characterized by parents intentionally making their children sick to gain attention.

“Munch housing by proxy is a very sick and twisted disorder where a parent actually harms their own children exaggerates their symptom does any anything they can to get attention from doctors and Hospital staff and therefore feel important because they're a focus of attention sympathy and support”

“I know about that because of the TV show House like it's where you want the attention of people and doctors and stuff but not for yourself you don't pretend to be sick someone you know is sick like your kids or whatever and then you get that attention via them it's weird”

Hayley Moonbeam indicates she was a victim of Munchausen by proxy, where her mother forced her into a state of illness.
