The evolution of golf culture towards being less stuffy, allowing for more casual attire and behavior, is a positive development that makes the sport more fun.

“Fast-forward, here's Bert Kreischer with his shirt off on a party hole for 10,000 people screaming. And then Chase Kemka gets a hole-in-one a minute later, everyone's launching beers and it's like this Yeah, this is golf.”

The golf industry is traditionally stale and unwelcoming, providing a significant opportunity for modern operators to improve the customer experience.

“It's an old dated industry. And so that was the bar was actually really low. The major insight was there's a missing gap which is more and more people are playing the game than ever.”

He believes YouTube golf is highly relatable to the everyday golfer because it is not buttoned up and follows the casual pace of play found in amateur games.

“I feel like people got away from what golf really about like you don't need to [ __ ] be buttoned up and proper every [ __ ] course you go to like like the way that we interacted on the golf course is the way that 99% of people and their friends are interacting on the golf course you're [ __ ] talki”

Golf culture is evolving because more people find the traditional, buttoned-up style of the game boring, and more relaxed approaches encourage new people to try it.

“And now they see us and they see this and they see the culture shifting and they're like, "Oh, that looks fun. Maybe I'll give it a shot."”

He believes the Masters is a uniquely special event due to the extreme level of care, beauty, and history associated with the course.

“I think anybody that's been to the Masters just realizes how special and unique of a place it is. And um you know, Augusta National is just everything's done to just a ridiculous degree between maintaining the course, the beauty of it, the hospitality of it.”

He argues that calling the Players Championship a major would negatively affect the historical integrity of major championship records.

“It would completely mess with like records and majors. Like, it would mess It's like uh the NBA before the three-point line, you know? It's like those stats way back line. You can't even like count those stats, too.”

Jim Nantz believes the Masters tournament is a unique and special event that is sacred because of its rules and decorum.

“You got your mun lot with your hair down and your no rules and then you can be in the grounds of Augusta where you got to have a jacket on the moment you step foot and there's a lot of rules and decorum in place to protect something that's pretty sacred.”

“I think gatekeeping is good >> in some cases >> I support gatekeeping >> this is like the last thing they have”

“I I do think the one thing I will say is that what to me is evident is that golf is very very humbling.”
