The NFL combine is a marathon networking event that is crucial for building team rosters and identifying future NFL talent.

“I mean, you're talking about coaches asking assistant coaches what's going on in other places, scouts, talking to other scouts, GMs, talking to agents, and all this is happening in a couple different watering holes around Indianapolis.”

He expresses dislike for top college football prospects choosing not to participate in workouts at the NFL Combine.

“I don't like hearing new names say they're not working out the combat”

Rich Eisen suggests that players should prioritize performing their 40-yard dash at the combine rather than waiting for their pro days.

“I think at the end of the day, if you're going to run your 40, you should do it at the combine and then don't do anything else if you don't want to like that.”

He thinks it is crucial for teams to attend the combine in person to interact with prospects face-to-face.

“how important is it actually being here in Indie and seeing these guys face to face cuz I think uh the last several years as the compin gotten a much bigger deal like we'll see teams will be here Monday through Wednesday they do the Medicals and then they head out”

Setting a record at the NFL combine was a necessary achievement to earn the attention of scouts and gain exposure.

“I just had to get to the showcase. So, it was really huge for me to get that combine invite. Um that was that was monumental for me trying to get more exposure, get more eyes to my to my tape. So, I knew that I was going to go I was going for the record for sure.”

Meeting with players for short interviews helps management understand their football foundation and knowledge.

“I think the funnest part for me is getting to get in these meeting rooms for 20 minutes. And it sounds boring, but just seeing that the where these guys are, what their foot, what their football foundation is, kind of what their knowledge is of the game, where they're going”

He believes the most important information gained from the combine is medical and interview-related data rather than physical testing.

“it comes back to the medical information that's most important in and then the interview”

He believes the Wonderlic Test is not an important way to evaluate football intelligence.

“there's a Long window way of saying I think the Wonderlic score and in terms of evaluating football intelligence is next to like as far not important as possible that's where I put the Wonderlic Test”

He believes the Wonderlic test is not a good indicator of intelligence due to time constraints and reading speed issues.

“I almost feel like a Wonderlic score the questions are so easy I almost feel like the guys that don't score well on those are just not good at reading”

He expects that the depth of this year's tight end class will be thoroughly tested because top prospects are not expected to participate in drills.

“I think you know you mentioned how deep this year's tight end class is Pat I think you're exactly right obviously the top two guys you know Tyler Warren Coulson Loveland I don't think they're going to do much today so we're going to really test the depth today”

Top prospects are justified in skipping the NFL Combine drills because they can control the environment and demonstration of their skills at their own pro days.

“let you know we can be honest and say at your prod day you control the environment you get to control the script and I think that's what they're going to do they're just going to get all of the teams down to Boulder or wherever they choose to to to have the pro day and the usad door he's going to th”
