“I introduced a bill uh that would eliminate qualified immunity for these CBP and ICE agents. So if a civil suit is filed against them, they can be held liable and held accountable, even though it is not the same as criminal accountability.”

She believes it is unlikely that Donald Trump will receive a jail sentence, favoring alternative sanctions instead.

“the reason why I think jail is less likely here is because we've already seen judge merchan really come up close to the question of whether or not Trump should have some kind of incarcerating the gag order and judg joh himself said like I'm really loathed to put you in jail”

He asserts that Donald Trump faces a genuine prospect of a jail sentence for his crimes.

“I think there's a serious prospect that he's going to get a jail sentence and if he's not reelected that he serves that jail sentence”

The federal government should be held accountable because there is currently a lack of legal remedies for federal officers violating constitutional rights.

“Congress should have codified protections for Roe. You know not just relied on the idea that the Supreme Court was always going to stick to precedent. And we also need to think about what these institutions should look like in the post Trump world”
