D4vd Celeste Rivas Hernandez wrongful death lawsuit — the civil complaint puts David Anthony Burke's inner circle in the same legal frame as the musician and asks what the adults around him allegedly knew. Celeste's parents named Burke, his mother Colleen Burke, manager Josh Marshall, live-in security guard Sheldon Jacques, business entities, and others in a 12-cause civil action seeking damages over her death. The complaint alleges people and companies around Burke knew or should have known a minor was being brought into his orbit and failed to protect her. It also alleges Jacques helped remove Celeste from her family home and transport her to Burke's Hollywood Hills residence, where he reportedly lived for about six months during the relevant period. Money is another pressure point. Burke's former financial manager testified at the preliminary hearing that the singer generated roughly $10 million to $11.5 million in gross earnings from 2023 through 2025. Property records later showed two Texas homes were transferred into his mother's name after Celeste's remains were discovered. The complaint also alleges Colleen Burke managed significant parts of her son's finances and approved bills connected to his business operations. Burke has pleaded not guilty in the criminal case, was ordered to stand trial after a July preliminary hearing, and remains jailed without bail. His private lawyers withdrew in August, and he is now represented by a public defender. His next status conference is set for October 19, 2026.
