Pete Holmes sits down with Ryan Sickler stand-up comedian, podcaster, and one of the most authentic storytellers working in comedy today. Ryan grew up in Baltimore with a childhood that would break most people, and instead of running from it, he turned it into some of the most honest, hilarious, and deeply human stand-up material you'll hear anywhere. He's the kind of comic's comic who earns the laugh by earning the truth first and Pete Holmes has been a fan for a long time. In this episode, Pete and Ryan go deep on all of it — what it was like growing up in chaos, how comedy became a lifeline, the long road through sobriety, what it means to build a real life out of wreckage, and why telling the truth is always funnier than pretending. Ryan brings his signature rawness and warmth, and Pete meets him there with empathy, wonder, and plenty of his own weird spiritual tangents. This is a big, honest, laugh-filled conversation about survival, redemption, and the weird grace of finding your people. Ryan's brand new stand-up special Live & Alive is out now and available to watch for free on YouTube go watch it immediately after this episode. He is also the longtime co-host of The Crabfeast podcast alongside Jay Larson, one of the most beloved comedian-to-comedian podcasts in the game.
