Listen on Spotify: https://gvnf.sh/spotify Closing arguments were made today in the Brian Walshe murder trial, and the defense leaned hard into a single theme, that he loved his wife, Ana Walshe, even as they acknowledged he dismembered her body and disposed of the remains. In this livestream, I break down the prosecution’s final narrative, the defense’s attempt to reframe horrific actions as panic and love, and what jurors were ultimately asked to believe as the case heads to deliberations. We’ll walk through the most striking moments from both sides, what evidence mattered most, and what questions the jury now has to answer in a case with no body, but a mountain of evidence. Case background: Ana Walshe, a 39-year-old mother of three, disappeared from her home in Cohasset, Massachusetts on January 1, 2023. Her husband, Brian Walshe, did not report her missing until several days later. Investigators quickly uncovered troubling evidence, including blood in their residence, trash bags containing human tissue, a hacksaw, and a series of alarming Google searches such as “how to dispose of a 115-pound woman’s body.” Although Ana’s remains have never been located, authorities allege she was killed and dismembered. Brian Walshe now faces charges including first-degree mrder, misleading police, and improper handling of a body. He had already been convicted of art fraud in 2023 and sentenced to 37 months in federal custody.
