Joseph Duggar posted $600,000 bond in a Florida courtroom and was on a plane back to Arkansas the same afternoon. According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, his father Jim Bob was in the courtroom ready to post bond. According to court records, Joseph had already filed a written not-guilty plea and demanded a jury trial from his jail cell. In Florida, Joseph faces charges classified as a life felony — a mandatory minimum of 25 years if convicted. According to the arrest affidavit, a now-fourteen-year-old girl told investigators that Joseph allegedly harmed her during a family vacation when she was nine years old. According to that affidavit, he allegedly admitted to the conduct when confronted by the girl's father — and admitted again when the father called back with a detective on the line. In Arkansas, both Joseph and his wife Kendra face charges reportedly connected to the discovery of locks on the outside of bedroom doors in their home. That detail should stop every parent listening in their tracks. According to a recorded jailhouse call, Kendra reportedly hired the Duggar family's longtime attorney for herself — not for Joseph. She left the family home with their children and has not returned. Joseph's brother Josh Duggar is currently serving twelve and a half years in federal prison for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. Conviction upheld on appeal. Jim Bob's niece Amy Duggar King told Fox News she was not surprised another alleged offender emerged from what she called a toxic system. Jim Bob's own sister told Page Six that Kendra should leave Joseph. The people who walked away from the Duggar system are the ones speaking clearly.
