John is joined by US national defence specialist and academic Rebeccah L. Heinrichs to discuss US security and strategy in the wake of the war between Ukraine and Russia. In a historical first, the conflict is broadcast globally via the internet, both galvanising the West and providing Russia with the means to utilise information warfare. Rebeccah L. Heinrichs is a senior fellow at Hudson Institute specialising in US national defence policy with a focus on strategic deterrence. She writes for leading political magazines and academic journals, and regularly provides analysis on cable news and radio programs. Rebeccah teaches nuclear deterrence theory at the Institute of World Politics and is a staff member of the Defence and Strategic Studies Program at Missouri State University. Rebeccah served in the U.S. House of Representatives as an adviser to former Congressman Trent Franks, where she focused on matters related to the Strategic Forces Subcommittee of the Armed Services Committee. She was instrumental in starting the Bipartisan Missile Defence Caucus. Prior to her work on defence policy, she was on the oversight staff of the House Judiciary Committee. #Russia #Putin #USDefence -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Conversations feature John Anderson, former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, interviewing the world's foremost thought leaders about today's pressing social, cultural and political issues.
