In the terrifying early hours after 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson home, her daughters, Savannah Guthrie (TODAY show co-anchor) and Annie Guthrie, made frantic phone calls to every local hospital — desperately hoping their mother had suffered a medical emergency and was safe in the ER. In this episode, we dive deep into that chaotic first day: the propped-open doors, the initial fear that Nancy had simply "wandered off," the panicked calls to Northwest Medical Center, Banner University Medical Center Tucson, and other hospitals, and how the family quickly realized something far more sinister had happened. We break down Savannah and Annie's emotional accounts of those desperate hours, the hospital rumor that exploded online (including the debunked airlift story), the masked intruder caught on doorbell camera, ransom notes, and the ongoing investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. Was it a kidnapping? Why did the family immediately start calling hospitals? What did Savannah reveal in her first interview about that frantic morning?
