Cozzi was the defense attorney for Kosowski's former employer in a bitter, lengthy battle stemming from a lawsuit filed by Kosowski over said employer's (Laufer Institute of Plastic Surgery) billing practices. Cozzi went missing from his law firm on 3/21/23, and his body has never been found. According to law enforcement, there is plenty of evidence tying Kosowski to the crime, including surveillance video, google searches, blood & DNA evidence, and other items found in Kosowski's truck & Tarpon Springs home, after his arrest on 3/25/23. After several teams of attorneys dropped Kosowski as a client for varied reasons, Kosowski has opted to defend himself in a bench trial.
