The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has gripped the nation. Last seen at her Catalina Foothills home near Tucson, Arizona, around 9:30–9:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, she was reported missing by family around noon Sunday, February 1. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos declared her residence an active crime scene, stating: "I believe she was abducted" — possibly while sleeping — and "she did not leave on her own." Homicide detectives are leading, with FBI assistance. Nancy is mentally sharp ("sharp as a tack," no dementia) but has limited mobility and needs life-sustaining medication every ~24 hours—without it, consequences could be fatal fast. Extensive searches (drones, K9s, air/ground teams) found no trace, shifting focus to criminal investigation. No suspects, ransom, or threats announced; authorities review home cameras, her phone, and seek neighbor doorbell footage or odd sightings/vehicles that night. If you have info, call Pima County Sheriff's tip line: 520-351-4900. Prayers for Nancy's safe return and the Guthrie family.
