The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has released two messages connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. One demands millions in Bitcoin and threatens her life. The other claims she died shortly after being taken and was “buried in nature.” In this episode, we examine the communications using forensic linguistics, behavioral threat-assessment principles and practical law-enforcement investigative standards. What do the shifts from “we” to “me,” from control to apology, and from “will be killed” to “we never intended to hurt her” begins to tell us about the writer. Do the notes suggest they were written by the same author, or several? And what can responsibly be said about the writer’s personality presentation, writing ability, education and sophistication—and what would cross the line into speculation? #NancyGuthrie #SavannahGuthrie #ProfilingEvil #PimaCountySheriff #ChrisNanos #FBI #RansomNote #ForensicLinguistics #BehavioralAnalysis #CriminalProfiling #MissingPerson #KidnappingInvestigation #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeNews #CrimeNews ======================================== 20% OFF Newspapers.com https://www.newspapers.com/go/podcast/?ref=profilingevil?xid=8877&utm_source=ProfilingEvilPodcast&utm_medium=podcst&utm_campaign=ProfilingEvil26 ======================================== Discounts on eBikes: https://aipasbike.com/?ref=PROFILINGEVIL Referral Coupon Code: PROFILINGEVIL ======================================== Email your questions to: ProfilingEvil@gmail.com ======================================== 💳 DONATE: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=T54JX76RZ455S 💵 PayPal: https://paypal.me/profilingevil 🕵️BECOME A MEMBER: https://www.youtube.com/profilingevil/join 🛒SHOP MERCH: https://www.profilingevil.com/profilingevilshop 📖SHOP BOOKS: https://www.profilingevil.com/store
