For years I taught people to cut up their credit cards. I worked for Dave Ramsey. I believed every word of it. My position has changed, and I owe you an honest explanation. In this episode, I walk you through the three rules that govern how I now think about credit cards, why my view has matured, and the warning I need every viewer to hear before they take this video as permission to do something they are not ready for. This is not a hot take. This is a graduate-level conversation for people who are doing the work. If you are still in debt, the Ramsey rule is still the right rule for you. Cut up the cards. Pay off the debt. Then come back. My new book Stop Living Paycheck to Paycheck is the system that takes you from broke and overwhelmed to the kind of discipline that lets you handle any financial tool wisely.
