On July 24, 2026, Judge Mark C. Gildea denied both Karen Read's and Aidan Kearney's special motions to dismiss under the Massachusetts anti-SLAPP statute, G.L. c. 231, § 59H. Both motions failed at stage one — meaning the court never reached the question of whether the defendants' petitioning was "devoid of any reasonable factual support."
