In this episode of Crimes and Consequences: Joseph Edward Duncan may not be someone whose name rings a bell, but maybe the case that brought him to justice will. The Groene family were enjoying a night at home one evening in May 2005 when Joseph barged his way into their home and murdered members of the family and decided to kidnap the youngest children—9-year-old Shasta, and 8-year-old Dylan. Then he went on the run for several weeks with the siblings and tortured and abused them as he ran from the law. -------------------------------------- Join us on Facebook and IG: @HARDCORETRUECRIME Web: www.crimesandconsequences.com---------------Get ad-free early releases of each episode, plus over 180 exclusive Members Only episodes by going to Patreon.com/tntcrimes or joining our Apple Channel on the Apple Podcast App. ------------------------------------- SOURCES: 1) Grunge.com: Inside The Death Of Convicted Serial Killer Joseph Duncan 2) Northwestern.edu: The Sexual Psychopath 3) The Netline: Shasta Groene's story: Her recovery from a horrific abduction - TheNetline 4) ABC7 Los Angeles: Serial killer Joseph Edward Duncan, who murdered 10-year-old Anthony Martinez of Riverside County, dies on death row - ABC7 Los Angeles 5) The New York Times: Body of Missing 10-Year-Old Boy Is Found in a Desert in California - The New York Times (nytimes.com) 6) Los Angeles Times: Body Found in Desert Is Abducted Boy's - Los Angeles Times 7) The Seattle Times: Short Lives Of Slain Girls Recalled With Tears, Hugs | The Seattle Times
