Traveling to far reaches of America to witness birds in their natural habitat — from navigating volcanic terrain in Hawaii for elusive honeycreepers to Puerto Rican parrots to peregrine falcons in NYC — Cooper’s love of birding is contagious, and Extraordinary Birder with Christian Cooper is a fascinating look at what our avian neighbors can teach us about the world. Hear Cooper discuss the genesis of the series — his love of birds and the people who study them, his passionate advocacy for creating safer access to green spaces for all, and much more. Cooper shares more of his experiences in his New York Times Bestseller memoir, Better Living Through Birding. Recorded July 12, 2023 at The 92nd Street Y, New York.
