The officer pulled over and walked over to the pit and looked down inside of it. And there at the bottom was something that he and the rest of his colleagues had been looking for for weeks. But as soon as he began scrambling down into the pit to take a closer look at this thing he found, a gun shot rang out. Then another, and another. And before long, the police officer was running for his life, screaming into his radio for backup.
