Marino discusses his Italian roots, early stickups, bank robberies in Boston’s North End, and the rise of the New England Mafia under Raymond Patriarca Sr. and Raymond Patriarca Jr. He details the violent 1980s–90s power struggle involving Frank Salemme, Joseph Russo, Vincent “The Animal” Ferrara, Whitey Bulger, Stevie Flemmi, and FBI agent John Connolly, including the 1989 IHOP shooting and the RICO case that led to a 35-year sentence. After serving 28 years, Marino reflects on prison politics, Fort Dix, Whitey Bulger’s killing, legal work behind bars, and life after release as an author and filmmaker with Patriarca Purge. A rare firsthand account of Boston organized crime, federal corruption claims, and survival.
