He claims that YouTube defaulting to 480p is a fantastic measure for conserving bandwidth for people who truly need it for remote work.

“it's this will actually very likely make a noticeable decrease on the internet usage of the world which is crazy and flow plane would not be in the same category at all so i don't think we're too worried about it it's probably fine but that does lead us into why youtube would do this”
