Shaquille O'Neal believes that athletes should approach the transition out of sports by finding new challenges and maintaining a strong work ethic.

“Am I sad that the show is leaving? Yes, but I've been programmed to do something new after every four years. So I've been with Inside the NBA 12 years. That's three military terms. And now it's just time to do something else.”

He believes that acting in movies and television is a career path he enjoys and wants to pursue further.

“the movies now i i'm taking more serious and trying to get more serious roles and more more roles and doing some more stuff i mean the covet thing kind of screwed it up for a little while but we just get back to that a little bit because i enjoy it and i i figured i liked trying trying to act”
