The Iranian nuclear enrichment activities were not an imminent threat and functioned as a bargaining chip in negotiations.

“It was a chip to bargain away which is actually what they were trying to do. They were in the middle of negotiations when Israel snuck attacked them and launched this war.”

Iran's enrichment to 60 percent is evidence of a nuclear weapons program and poses a severe threat that requires containment.

“We know that they've enriched to 60% which means they're 90% of the way there. There's no reason to have anything above 3 to 5% for civilian use. Everybody understands that 60% the only purpose of it is for nuclear weapons.”

He asserts that Iran does not have a nuclear weapons program and cites US intelligence reports as evidence.

“The first point was that Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon. The second point was that Iran doesn't have a nuclear weapon program. And the third point was that the Iranian leaders have not decided to have a nuclear weapon program.”

Military action against Iran is not a strategic success and will likely push Iran toward developing a nuclear deterrent, making diplomacy the only viable long-term solution.

“And even if he does more, there is very little reason to believe that it could completely be destroyed simply through military action. And that then leaves diplomacy as the only option.”

The Iranian regime is determined to acquire atomic weapons as a security strategy modeled after North Korea, Pakistan, and others.

“They understand how they stay in power if they had working atomic weapons because it's the North Korean strategy. They've looked at Ukraine. They've looked at Libya and they've looked at North Korea and Pakistan and they've said, "Well, turned out better for the Pakistanis than the North Koreans tha”
