He believes the group's coordinated effort to create a special birthday event is a wholesome experience for the recipient.

“You know what? Seeing JJ's reaction to the video itself cuz I know he had no idea. So seeing his reaction to actually having like a genuine birthday party is quite wholesome.”

He thinks that surprising a friend with kindness is an effective and successful gesture.

“I think that surprise landed great. Yeah, I think JJ doesn't expect kindness like this from his friends.”

He believes spending time with his friends is the most meaningful part of his birthday.

“Regardless of money.”

Receiving a gift that is both personal and thoughtfully selected can be an incredibly significant and emotional experience.

“that is I think that is the most special thing I think I've ever received in my life”

Birthdays can create difficult feelings because the expectation of social support can lead to disappointment if others do not show up.

“I think that like sometimes yeah just it might extend but like like I think sometimes birthdays can be tough because it creates the opportunity for disappointment like you know like when people aren't there for you for like a dinner or something in regular life you're like oh yeah everybody's got yo”

He views birthdays as participation awards that he finds undeserved.

“but to me it's a bit of a participation award I did not do anything should be born on this day there's no it's it's a celebration of life I get it but it is is this is it slightly undeserved”

Bob believes birthday celebrations are not inherently meaningful to him and has never found them particularly remarkable.

“my birthday has never been a thing I was that that into. Like nothing stands out as like horrendous birthdays.”
