Disney likely brought Kimmel back primarily because of public pressure and the threat of lost subscribers.

“it really feels like the only reason Disney put Kimmel back on the air is because enough he has said, go fuck yourself, Bob, and start canceling Disney Plus and Hulu subscriptions.”

Akaash Singh argues that the removal of Jimmy Kimmel from the air is a concerning attack on free speech, as it potentially involves government pressure from the FCC.

“So, this seems like a big attack on free speech. And uh yeah, I think we've been pretty staunchly in favor of free speech.”

Jimmy Kimmel's statement was constructive by showing empathy, but failed to address his actual wrongdoing of spreading false information about the shooter's political affiliation.

“He did not fess up to what he really did wrong here, which was to claim that the shooter was MAGA. That was the thing that was deeply offensive.”
