“to me it read as the dangers of if we don't legalize it then you're going to have random drug dealers in flop houses who put your kids in dangerous positions where those kids could have just gone to a store and bought weed and then a lot of the events that occur in the film wouldn't happen”

The current state policies in California, such as decriminalizing minor offenses, remove the incentives for addicts to seek sobriety and should be reversed.

“The state currently in places like California are doing everything in their power to make it as easy as possible to keep getting high. Jared, you've got what is possibly the craziest life story of anyone we have ever had on the show.”

She believes hard drugs should remain illegal due to their unknown, long-term health risks and the destructive nature of addiction.

“for hard drugs I you know I'm not in favor of it I think it's just there's too much that's unknown I think it's incredibly dangerous for people and purely because of the an idol and maybe that's you know philosophically inconsistent I try to stay really consistent but I think I can be clouded”

The province of Alberta rejects policies that enable drug use, focusing instead on recovery and rehabilitation as the only viable path to help those addicted.

“our province has been really dedicated on focusing on addiction recovery and helping individuals in the circumstance but there's certainly elements of our province that just want to let it continue”
